SHAWNEE – The Owasso Lady Rams held onto hope in their Class 6A State Tournament opener until the very last out Thursday, falling to the Westmoore Lady Jaguars in a 5-3 final score. It was a matchup that came down to the very last pitch, as the Lady Rams loaded the bases with one out to go in the top of the seventh inning.

The opening runs of the ballgame came on a double from first baseman Lily Shaw, which propelled a RBI for Paige Compton. This was followed up by a hit from pitcher Jordan Hausher that would score the third run of the ballgame and put Owasso ahead 3-0.

The Lady Jaguars had a productive bottom of the first inning, putting four players across the plate to take a 4-3 lead.

After an additional run was brought in by Westmoore, Owasso was helped by a highlight reel catch from Rylie Boone to end the fourth inning.

Avery Tallman came in to pitch in relief following the first inning, and was named the Rams On Radio McDonalds Player of the Game on the InsideOwasso.Com/Owasso Sports Network broadcast.

The Lady Rams end the season with a 22-9 record, as Westmoore will advance to play Deer Creek in the semi-final matchup.
