UPDATE: Police Confirm Check N’ Go Robbery Suspect Captured

UPDATE– The suspect has been identified and is in police custody at this time.

Owasso detectives worked with Muskogee officers to locate a man identified through a tip from the public.  24yo Andrew William Sluder of Muskogee was arrested and transported to the Muskogee County Jail related to the robbery that occurred in that jurisdiction.  Additional charges are anticipated related to the robberies that occurred in Owasso and Broken Arrow.  All the agencies involved in this incident would like to express our appreciation for all the assistance and outpouring of concern from the community that lead to the apprehension of this suspect.

ORIGINAL STORY:

On October 4th, 2018 at 4:45 PM, Owasso Police Officers responded to a report of an alleged armed robbery at the Check N’ Go on 8700 N. Owasso Expressway.

The Owasso Police tell us that a white male armed with a black handgun allegedly came inside the business and began demanding money from employees of the store. According to OPD, the man allegedly left the store with an unknown amount of cash obtained in the robbery and fled the scene on foot.

Inside Owasso was on the scene of the incident shorty after it took place. Officers were canvasing the area and speaking to potential witnesses in shopping center where the robbery took place. A K-9 Unit was also brought to the scene in an attempt to track the suspect.

The Owasso Police were unable to locate the suspect in the area.

The suspect is believed to have been involved in robberies at the Check Into Cash located at 709 West New Orleans Street in Broken Arrow on October 1,2018 and the Check Into Cash located at 1201 N. York St. in Muskogee on September 13, 2018.  Investigators from Owasso, Broken Arrow and Muskogee have been working together to in an attempt to identify the suspect and they are seeking help from the public in the hopes that someone may recognize him.
