TULSA – The National Weather Service says you can expect scattered thunderstorms across Green Country today.

“A few thunderstorms will continue this morning, but severe weather is not expected with these storms.” Forecasters said Tuesday. “Scattered thunderstorms will increase by late morning into the afternoon, and these storms will have a limited threat of damaging wind gusts, especially across northeast Oklahoma. If you are outside today, be aware for approaching storms.”

Meteorologists say that after the storm chances, hot and humid weather will persist for the remainder of the week.

“Thunderstorm chances will continue into Wednesday, with chances lessening after that time as a strong upper ridge expands east over the area.” the Weather Service said. “Hot and humid conditions will continue through the weekend into early next week, with the heat possibly peaking around Friday.”
